How long does the process take?
All up, if everything goes smoothly, you could be the proud owner of a slice of HELL within 4 months of application. The training period required is about 10 weeks, depending how quickly you pick up the required skills.
Do I need to work in the business?
HELL is an owner-operated business, and we are only looking for franchisees who are willing to dedicate their time and energy to our brand. This is all for your benefit – we know from years of experience that our stores operate most successfully when the franchisee is heavily involved.
How much money do I need?
The investment required to own a HELL store varies greatly, depending on the store you are buying or establishing. Generally speaking, to open a new store you’ll need capital of approximately $400-450k, and to buy an existing store it will range from around $300k up to $1m+. All major banks are supportive of our business and will assess your application for a loan on a case-by-case basis. As a guide you’ll typically need around 50% of the total investment in cash and/or equity (for example in your property).
Can I own more than one HELL store?
Yes, we do approve multi-site operators provided they meet the multi-site selection criteria. Generally this means that you have proven experience consistently running a successful HELL outlet for a period of time, and have the skills and resources required to operate more than one outlet at the same time.
What sort of support will I get?
HELL’s overall purpose is “to enable our franchisees to be successful” and we focus 100% of our energy into this mantra. It shapes how we prioritise our work, the decisions we make, and how we support our franchisees. Each franchisee gets tailored support from a range of experts at the Support Office, covering all aspects of operating the business.
What are the ongoing franchise fees?
At HELL we have some of the lowest and best value franchise fees in the industry (going back to our purpose of enabling franchisees to be successful!). The ongoing franchise fee is 5% of gross turnover + 5% for marketing fees, however through our high performance programme franchisees can achieve a marketing fee rebate of up to 3% depending on the store performance against defined criteria.
Do I need any experience?
No experience is necessary – we can teach you everything you need to know, as long as you have passion & energy, and the right attitude to listen and learn the HELL system.
